Final Push
What would Miss Road Manners -- Freddi Carlip, newly elected president of RRCA -- make of this? She'd likely start reading with chagrin and end with a chuckle, as I did.
C.J. Ong writes about running the Maui Marathon this winter. "Soon as the finish line appeared, I began running really hard in an effort to improve on my estimated 500th-place finished," he says. "I elbowed old people right and left; I shoved small children out of the way because I was going to finish at least 497th."
He added, "Besides, those people shouldn't stand so close when they cheer us on."
