Tears for a Winner (follow-up to 1/29)
You are allowed to shed a few tears in memory of your old friend George Sheehan. He lives on, through you, his family, his writings and all of us who hardly knew him except for his legacies.
George's often quoted and I suspect favorite poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson, might have been referring to Dr. George when he wrote "An institution is the lengthened shadow of one man." George's shadow falls on all of us in our lives and in our running. (John McGee, Edmonton, Alberta) ###
