At the Millennium Marathon in Hamilton a runner from the U.S., Michael Wojcio, asked me many questions about "marathon-collectors" [runners with the most lifetime marathons completed]. I told him about Horst Preisler from Germany, who will run his 1000th official marathon very soon.

This is far ahead of the count for Norm Frank, who is generally credited in U.S. publications with having the highest total at 680-plus. Please give Preisler the recognition he has earned. (Wolfgang Loescher, Germany)
