Code of the Road (follow-up to 12/26)
I was very disappointed that in your February 2000 Runner's World column where you stated that runners should not push Baby Joggers in races. My wife and I have run many 5-K and 10-K races with our two sons in our double Baby Jogger.
We always start in the back behind the other runners (certainly nowhere close to the serious competitors) and have never run anyone over. Runners are very friendly and enjoy conversing with our boys. The only negative comments I get are from the people we pass that want a ride or feel I am making them look bad.
Do you really believe other runners are being injured, or do you simply dislike children in general? Runners with children (with good life priorities) either use Baby Joggers or do not participate. My boys love races and are hopefully going to be your future customers. (Bob Shreiner, South Bend, Indiana)
