Winter Wanderland (follow-up to 11/17)
I swear that from time to time, upon reading something you've written, I believe that you and I are twins separated at birth (of course, you're the older one). Once again this month, you have mirrored my thoughts about braving the elements.
In my almost 18 years of running, I have never stepped foot on a treadmill, and I probably never will. I'm not knocking it for those who do. it's just not for me.
For some people, running is much more than just a way of staying fit, or
something we do to run faster times. It is an extension of ourselves, and something that is dreadfully lacking when we cannot do it. The feel of a windy chill blowing in my face, or looking to the dark morning sky in time to see a meteor shooting across the atmosphere is the third dimension of running that only a conqueror of the elements can really appreciate.
